Your dogs crate should be kept in a place where you and your family members are always around, your dog will want to come and sit with all the family members and make sure it doesn’t feel isolated and left out. Let your dog know that the crate belongs to him or her by placing its favorite food or toy inside it from time to time, so that you can encourage it to enter into the crate.  Try to clap or say ‘good boy or good girl’ when your dog enters the crate. It will feel good and will gradually understand that he or she is supposed to go into the crate.

When you scold your dog and punish it never try to send it to its crate as it will develop a wrong attitude towards the crate and will hate to enter it. Always create a happy attitude when you send your dog to the crate.

Whenever your dog is looking for privacy or comfort it will turn to its crate.
